Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
