"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese added.

In a new development, a Los Angeles court official decided to bar the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate put a restriction on the files to restrict the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a record listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
