FC Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
